Abstract
With an automated very high-temperature calorimeter, the enthalpy of formation of the ternary liquid system [Co + Ga + In] has been measured between 1440 and 1564 K over a large molar fraction range. From the enthalpy of formation of the binary liquid systems (Ga + In, Co + Ga and Co + In) previously obtained, the ternary enthalpies of formation have been estimated by using several well-known relations. Calculated and experimental results have been compared. Moreover points of the liquidus surface of the Co + Ga + In system have been determined and some isotherms of the ternary phase diagram have been proposed.
